Our History

Sacred Heart Catholic College with the acronym, SHCC, is a Catholic Mission co-educational institution located at Owakurudu, Ijebu-ode, Oguns state, Nigeria. It was found on September 17th, 2001 by the Ijebu-ode Catholilc Diocese under the episcopacy of late Bishop Albert Ayinde Fasina. The College motto is “Educatiens in Caritate” meaning “Nurturing in Love”. The pioneer principal of the college was late Otunba Dominic Tayo Banjo. The current proprietor is Most Rev. Dr. Francis Obafemi Adesina, the Bishop of Ijebu-ode Catholic Diocese.
Below are the principals of the college from her inception till date;
  1. Late Otunba Dominic Tayo Banjo 2001 – 2006
  2. Rev. Sr. Agnes Umude 2007 – 2010
  3. Rev. Fr. Jude Babatunde Kuti 2011 – 2016
  4. Rev. Fr. John Olufemi Ashinwo 2016 – 2021
  5. Rev. Fr. Jude Ndubuisi Okafor 2021- till date
The college status: Today, this citadel of learning has blossomed into an institution distinct from others as a result of her quality. The College has attained successes in both cognitive, affective and psychomotor assessment both at state and national levels.
To the glory of God, the College is moving to greater heights through the esteemed, seasoned members of staff and wonderful students who are yielding to reformation.
